To REGISTER a Player for the 2024 BASKETBALL Season:
PLAYERS currently in Kindergarten - 6th Grade may be registered to play Team Basketball through MDUMC, in the West Houston Christian Sports Association (WHCSA) League, online at the Player Registration LINK, below.
Online Registrations will remain open until 1/5/24 OR until all of our teams have enough Players OR are full.
Season Info:
- Teams will practice once a week on a day and time that works for everyone on the team. We do NOT pre-assign practice slots. Coaches & Parents help decide when & where the team will practice.
- We NEED Parent, or Adult (21 or older), Volunteer Coaches & Assistant Coaches in order for each Team to "make". IF you are available and willing to Volunteer, please register as a Coach/Assistant Coach using the registration LINK shown in the section further down the page titled "To Register as a VOLUNTEER for BASKETBALL for the 2024 Season".
- Teams will play one (1) game each Saturday from 1/13/24 - 3/2/24 inclusive. Game times & locations are determined by the WHCSA League.
- The Games Schedules will be distributed digitally to all Coaches on Tuesday 1/9/24.
- MDUMC will provide each Player with a red/white reversible Jersey and a pair of red game shorts. Parent chooses size required when they register their child online.
- Cost to register a Player is $145 unless a Parent registers more than one child during the same registration visit. If registering more than one child, the cost is $145 for the 1st child and $72.50 for each additional child.

Players "Get Ready" Basketball Clinics Information
Coach Heidi Horton, and her awesome Staff of Coaches, of Hoops-School (www.hoops-school.com) will conduct our annual Players "Get Ready" Basketball Clinics on Saturday 12/2/23 in the MDUMC Gym. Cost is $35 per participant and Clinic Sessions are for children currently in Kindergarten - 6th Grades for the '23-'24 School Year. One Clinic is for K-2nd grade Players (10 AM - Noon) and the other Clinic is for 3rd - 6th grade Players (1-3 PM).Each Clinic Session is LIMITED to only 40 Participants.

Basketball Coaching Clinic for the 2024 Season
Our Annual Basketball Coaching Clinic, for the upcoming 2024 Basketball Season, will take place this year on Saturday, December 2, 2023 in the MDUMC Gym located at 12955 Memorial Dr. 77079. The Clinic will be conducted by Coach Heidi Horton and her Staff of Instructors from Hoops-School. This Clinic is open to ALL parent/adult volunteer Basketball Coaches & Assistant Coaches regardless of what school, church or league they are coaching through.
The Coaching Clinic will take place from 8:30 - 9:45 AM on Saturday 12/2/23.
Cost is $25 per participant and is LIMITED to 50 Participants.

2023 MDUMC Soccer Coaching Clinic
Conducted by Sports Quest Training on Saturday 9/9/23 on the MDUMC Ball Field. (In case of inclement weather, the Clinic will take place in the MDUMC Gym!)
All MDUMC Soccer Coaches and Assistant Coaches are encouraged to attend (especially if they have never coached Children's Soccer before OR they have never attended one of our Soccer Coaching Clinics before).

Memorial Drive United Methodist - Sports & Recreation
Welcome and thank you your interest, and participation, in Sports and Recreation through Memorial Drive United Methodist Church (MDUMC). MDUMC has an outstanding ministry of Sports and Recreation for children and youth. Over 800 children and youth play team sports during the year through MDUMC. We are long standing members of the West Houston Christian Sports Association (WHCSA) and the Chapelwood Volleyball League.
We offer team sports opportunities, each school year, for Soccer, Basketball, Baseball/Softball/Tee Ball and Volleyball.
We, also, offer a Volleyball Camp every Summer for girls that will be entering the 4th-8th grades during the upcoming school year.
Coaches, for MDUMC teams, are recruited from Player's Families and Relatives and are certified in Safe Sanctuary, a Texas United Methodist Annual Conference program to protect the safety of children and youth. ALL first time MDUMC Coaches & Assistant Coaches must complete the Safe Sanctuary requirement. To take the Safe Sanctuary ONLINE training, please visit:

All Coaches, and Assistant Coaches, MUST read and agree to abide by the WHCSA's "Coaches Covenant" form for each sport they volunteer for. Scholarships
MDUMC Sports is in the business of offering quality sports experiences in an Instructional and safe environment to all those that want to participate. We want all Players to have a great experience and we never want children to not be able to participate for financial reasons.
IF you require a Half, or a Full, Scholarship so that your child can participate in Team Sports through MDUMC, please send a confidential request to Kim Kennedy at kimkennedy@mdumc.org prior to going through the registration process for your child/youth.
